Lies between latitude 7° 30′0″N and longitude 4° 30 0 E; Located in the south-western Nigeria; Bounded in the north by Kwara State, in the east partly by Ekiti State and partly by Ondo State, in the south by Ogun State and in the west by Oyo State; Situated in the tropical rain forest zone; Land area of approximately 14,875 sq km. Though a landlocked state, it is blessed with the presence of many rivers and streams which serves the water needs of the State. Population: 3,423,535 (2006 National Population Census).
