Hon. Usani Usani Uguru

Honourable Minister of Niger Delta

Mr. Usani Uguru hails from Cross River State. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography from the University of Jos, Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Calabar; and another Masters degree in Globalisation and Development from the University of London.
He is currently a Ph.D student of the Nigerian Defence Academy.
Until his appointment as a minister, Usani was the Coordinating Director of Fuzel Mining and Construction Company Limited.

Hon. Professor Claudius Omoyele Daramola

Honourable Minister of State for Niger Delta 

Professor Claudius Omoleye Daramola was born on 20th of January 1949. He hails from Ode Aye in Okitipupa Local government area of Ondo State. He attended Divisional Teachers Training College, Okitipupa from 1967-1969. He obtained a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from University of Sokoto . He also holds a Masters and Doctorate Degrees from University of Jos and University of Ilorin respectively.
Professor Daramola has held many administrative positions at the University and national levels. He has served on quite a number of committees in the University and edited and/or co-edited several academic journals within and outside of Nigeria.
He was a member of the Buhari/Osinbajo Presidential Campaign team in Ondo State.

The Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs was created in September 2008 by his Excellency, President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua to formulate and coordinate policies for the development and security of the Niger Delta region. Specifically, the Ministry is expected to formulate and execute plans, programmes and other initiatives as well as coordinate the activities of Agencies, Communities, donors and other stakeholders involved in the development of the Niger Delta region.

The vision of the Ministry is to serve as the primary vehicle for the execution of Government’s plans and programmes for rapid socio-economic development of the region.
